LWCC provides opportunities to empower students to create inclusive and equitable communities.
Mission:
The Ledonia Wright Cultural Center (LWCC) at East Carolina University provides specialized diversity and social justice experiences so all students can become confident, culturally aware, global citizens. Additionally, LWCC provides programming and services to support student success.

The Ledonia Wright Cultural Center is committed to the values of servant leadership, innovation and transformation, safety, community, collaboration, honesty and integrity, inclusive excellence, person-centeredness, respect, and racial/ethnic equality.
Learning Outcomes:
- UNDERSTANDING & APPRECIATION OF CULTURAL & HUMAN DIFFERENCES: Students will be offered authentic cultural programming to increase students’ understanding of various heritages, cultures, and identities.
- EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP: Students will work to create safe environments where power, privilege, and stereotypical assumptions are examined using meaningful dialogue, mutual sharing, and reflection.
- CONNECTING KNOWLEDGE TO EXPERIENCE & IDEAS: Students will utilize their personal experience and newfound knowledge to create a more socially just society .
- IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT: Students will identify their power and privilege as they make meaning of their identities in relationship to the systems of oppression through dialogue, mutual sharing and reflection.
